Beach of Pineda de Mar, Blue Flag

Pineda de Mar is a town completely embracing the sea. We enjoy a wide and long sandy beach of outstanding quality, approximately 3.000 metres long and with an average width of around 40 metres.

The care the City Council takes on the beach maintenance all year round is greatly intensified during the summer season.

A total of 65 showers are located along the beach. Several bicycle parkings can also be found, basically with the aim to promote cycling in the town and most especially in the beach area.

The quality of the sand and the water, as well as the services we provide, have made it possible for the beach of Pineda de Mar to have been awarded in recent years the Blue Flag quality certificate.

There are three displays in several beach locations disclosing all information related to the Blue Flag, as well as the state of the beach.

Furthermore, during the summer season, in two sites along the beach, “l'Agència Catalana de l'Aigua” (Catalan Water Agency) displays information about the quality of sand and water that is weekly updated. Coinciding with the location of showers, there are also several ramps providing handicapped people access to the beach.
